This is a 2007 photograph of CHIJMES Hall, previously CHIJ Chapel. CHIJMES was originally the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus. The buildings were converted for commercial use and currently houses restaurants and shops. This is a view of the hall interior showing a wall with three stained glass windows depicting events concerning the infant Jesus. The Gothic arches and architectural features are clearly visible. Four crystal chandeliers hang on either side. The multi-coloured tiled floor is separated into two sections by a middle aisle. Chairs in white upholstery replace the pews. The building was gazetted as a national monument on 26 October 1990. Title devised by Library staff.
