Abstract:
This performance choreographed by Kavitha Krishnan, Creative Director of Maya Dance Theatre, Ruth Osbourne, Artistic Director of QL2 and award winning choreographer Liz Lea from UK evokes the essence of Asian (Bharatha Natyam) and Australian dance types threaded together in exquisitely nuanced ways to show the way which each one of us is programmed to behave in an expected fashion to conform with the expectations of the society in which we live. A juxtaposition surfaces as the dance progresses, showcasing the tension that exists between the individuals and the spririt of conformity governed by the society.
