How do I contact Helpdesk?

Helpdesk Operating Hours:
8:00am to 9:00pm Daily (Excluding public holidays)
9:00am to 5:00pm (Eve of Christmas, New Year's Day and Chinese New Year)

How do I know if I am a NLB Digital Account Holder?
There are two forms of access to NLB Resources that you can hold:
- As a National Library Board (NLB) Member (refers to use of NLB libraries ONLY)
- As a NLB Digital Account Holder
Anyone who is Singaporean, PR or FIN holder can sign up for a NLB Digital Account to access NLB e-Resources, in or outside NLB libraries.
Note: You are not automatically registered as a NLB Digital Account Holder when you register as a NLB Member. Likewise, vice versa.

How do I register as a NLB Digital Account Holder?
Visit http://eResources.nlb.gov.sg and click on "Register" on the left menu.
- Sign up for a NLB Digital Account by filling in a username, password, personal information, security question and its answer.
- Click "Register" upon completion, to submit the form.

How do I log in?
You need to be a registered NLB Digital Account Holder to log in.
- Click on "Login" on the left menu.
- Type in your username and password, then click "Go".

How do I get a new Username if I have forgotten my old Username?
If you have already registered as a NLB Digital Account Holder, the system will prompt you with the message, "The NRIC / Birth Certificate / Library Membership No. entered has already been registered under another User ID".

How do I get a new password if I have forgotten my old password?

If you have forgotten your password or wish to change your password, visit the eResources Login Page and get your password reminder by clicking on "here" under "Forgot Password?".

Type in your username and click "Submit".

Next, you will be prompted a security question that you have previously keyed in during registration. Type in the answer and click "Submit".

Click "here" to view your new temporary password

With the temporary password, return to the eResources home page and click on "Login" on the left menu, type in your username and password, then click "Go". After logging in successfully, it is advised that you change the password immediately for security reasons.

How do I change my password?
You need to login before you can change the password.

Login from the eResources website.

Click on "Change Password" on the left menu.

Fill in the fields provided and click "Submit" to complete your password change.

How do I print from the multimedia stations at our libraries?
You can print documents from the multimedia stations for a charge of $0.30 per A4 page. Printouts can then be collected from the Customer Service Information Counter Photocopy Area. The payment can be made through your CashCard or your Pre-Paid Account.

How do I search if a particular journal or article is available within NL eResource?
If you have a NLB digital account, proceed to login. Then, click on Search eResources. A new page will open and you are required to type your Search query. If you do not have a NLB digital account, please register first by clicking on Register.

How do I search if a particular eBook title is available within NLB eResource?
- Click on by Type
- select eBooks
- select from the listing provided

How do I search for a particular Straits Times/联 合 早 报 article?
Using Factiva
You can access Straits Times in Factiva only at libraries and not from home. When you are accessing from libraries,
- Click "By A-Z"
- Click 'F' to find 'Factiva.com'.
- Click on [Source]
- Type "Straits Times" or "Lianhe Zaobao"
- Specify the date e.g. 09 Jun 2008
- Type 'a' in [Free text]
- click on [Run search]
- Click on title to view full-text of the article
Using Library Press Display
You can access Straits Times in Library Press Display only at libraries and not from home. When you are accessing from libraries,
- Click "By A-Z"
- Click 'L' to find 'Library PressDisplay'.
- Mouse over [Select Title] on top menu
- By Country --> Singapore
You will see, [Lianhe Zaobao], [The Straits Times], [The Wall Street Journal Asia] and [Today]

How do I read eBooks using a SmartPhone (e.g. Apple, Android applications?)
NLB currently does not offer Apple or Android apps. However NLB has an SmartPhone friendly Mobile Reads service at
http://m.nlb.gov.sg.On the use of iPad to access NLB e-Resources, user can access the website
using the standard browser (Safari) at http://eresources.nlb.gov.sg.

How do I borrow eBooks if I have Nook (from Barns and Noble) and Kindle 3?
The eBooks available for download are- World e-Book Library, consisting of more than 900,000 titles (mainly classics) and Koleksi Buku Elektronik Melayu (Malay eBooks) allows for downloads and reading off-line as long as the device has a PDF reader.
